Headed up to the mountains today in this 2005 ML500 “Special Edition”, whatever the heck special edition means here. Oh well, nice car, plenty of power and good in snow, but the brake pedal is crap. Very firm, and you are 90% of the way to the floor before anything starts to happen. Maybe this one just needs new brakes .
Also, not my picture but I saw this today in Vail. +1 for Top Gear plate, -1 for being registered in Montana.

my childhood friend’s parents bought a new 2001 ML430. My friend still has it now, over 200k miles and going strong.

merry christmas mate
maybe special edition means no brakes?
(rain means no brakes on my bike... but it trades stopping power for the most godawfull brake squeel in the world.... scares the shit out of whomever im about to plow into its great)
(still kinda baffled about losing the brakes in the wet tho.... that shouldnt happen with discs me thinks)

Last year of that chassis so let’s call it a special edition and throw some plastic crap on to make it look slightly different from other ones to try to sel l more before the new ones come out!
Brakes are normally pretty decent. That one sounds like it needs a brake flush at the very least.

Only time I lost brakes on mine was when I forgot to reconnect them

Very odd. Wish I knew more about them to give some helpful advice.
